Eyelash Training, From Lift and Tint to Extensions

Lash work splits into two jobs that don't really feel alike. A lift and tint reshapes the lashes a client already has, and it usually runs as a single appointment you can turn around quickly. Extensions are applied one lash at a time, so they ask for patience and steady hands, and they take genuine practice before you can work at salon speed. There are 3 lash courses here, and between them they cover both sides. Two of them teach lift and tint, and one of those arrives with a kit, which helps if you're starting without supplies. The third is an advanced certificate in extensions.

What these courses are for

What can you do with this?

The lift and tint courses cover that service from start to finish. You learn to choose a shield or rod size that suits the client's natural lash. Then you apply the lifting and setting solutions, with the timing each step needs. The tint goes on afterwards, and it darkens the result without making it look painted on. Extensions run on a different skill entirely. Isolation is the technique that takes longest to master. You separate a single natural lash before attaching anything to it, and that habit is what protects the client's own lashes. From there the course works through adhesive control, curl and length selection, and mapping a set to suit the eye shape. It also covers the infills that keep a set looking deliberate.

Enrolment to finish

How does studying this online work?

Each of these courses is studied online, and the two providers run their own platforms and support arrangements. Lessons open once you're enrolled, and from that point you determine the pace entirely. Practice is the part you handle offline, and lash work rewards repetition more than most beauty services, because neatness and speed only arrive after a lot of sets. The Online Courses Australia option includes a kit, so you can start practising without sourcing adhesive and tools first. The other two certificates assume you'll be supplying your own equipment. Pricing, guide hours and assessment requirements come straight from the provider once you make contact.

Quick answers

Before you enquire

What is the difference between a lash lift and extensions?

A lift works on the lashes a client already has, because it curls and sets them, and the tint then darkens them. Extensions attach new fibres to individual natural lashes, which builds length and volume a lift can't reach. They're separate services with separate appointment lengths.

Do I need a qualification to do lash treatments?

It depends on your state and on what you're offering, so check the rules where you'll be working. These certificates aren't nationally recognised, and they're built as practical training rather than accredited study. Insurers and salons will want evidence you've been trained before you work on clients.

Which lash course should I start with?

Lift and tint is the gentler starting point, because the service is shorter and the technique gets consistent sooner. Extensions take longer to learn and longer to perform, so many technicians add them once lifts are already paying. If supplies are the obstacle, the option with the kit removes that step.

How long does lash training take?

Every course here is self paced, so the time it takes comes down to how much of your week you can spare. Lift and tint is the shorter study, and the advanced extensions certificate is the longer one. Providers confirm guide hours directly. These listings were all live as of August 2026.
