Employer demand for these roles is holding steady. Across Ict Support Technicians, about 852 jobs were advertised online in June 2026 (down 3.7% on a year earlier). Roughly 10,407 openings were advertised over the last 12 months, while 9,000 people enrolled in the qualification nationally in 2024. Enrolment counts people in training, not completions, so the two figures describe the pipeline and the market, not a job guarantee.
Fewer people are training in this qualification than a year earlier. National enrolments fell from 10,920 in 2023, to 9,000 in 2024 (down 17.6%).
Employment in these occupations is projected to grow. Government projections put them at 74,800 workers in May 2025, 81,800 by May 2030 (up 9.4%) and 87,800 by May 2035 (up 17.4%).
This is the current version of the qualification on the national register. It replaced ICT40915, ICT40815, ICT41015, ICT40118, ICT40418, ICT40215, ICT40518 and ICT40315, whose currency ended on 19 July 2020.
