MCIE Work Placement Officers facilitate work placement for students to complete mandatory 120 hours of placement in an aged care environment.
Course is delivered in a blended class-based format, with most assessments submitted online via an LMS.

This course leads to an Australian Qualification that complies with the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF), or a Statement of Attainment.

MCIE is an Australian Registered Training Organisation (RTO) that offers vocational education and training. Students learn to provide complex support, supervise care teams, coordinate daily activities, and work with clients experiencing dementia or other age-related conditions. It suits people already working in aged care who want to move into senior roles, or those entering the sector with a clear goal of leadership.
Delivered by Melbourne City Institute of Education in a blended class-based format, the course combines face-to-face learning with online assessment submission through a learning management system. The course runs over 52 weeks, including 40 weeks of delivery and 12 weeks of scheduled holidays. It is not self-paced, students follow a structured timetable.
A mandatory 120-hour work placement in an aged care environment is part of the course. Work Placement Officers are available to help students secure a suitable placement. The course is also available as a traineeship, with trainees potentially eligible for State and/or Federal funding.
