Who It’s For

Why Do This Course

Step Into Work That Matters

Disability services need people, and they need them to arrive understanding the work. This course gets you there ready to be useful.

Support Someone Better Right Now

You may already care for a family member or friend. Rights, independence and assistive tech change what you can do for them.

No Rush, No Class Times

Nothing is timetabled, and nothing is pressured. You move through it at whatever speed your life allows.

Where The Skills Fit

Where These Skills Could Take You

Disability services hire across homes, day programs and community teams. The work is easy to picture: getting someone out the door, to the thing they want to do.

Disability Support Worker

Daily support in a home or out in the community.

Community Access Facilitator

Getting people to activities, groups and appointments.

Residential Care Worker

Supporting people who live in shared accommodation.

Lifestyle Support Coordinator

Building the week around what someone wants from it.

Recreational Therapy Assistant

Running activity programs alongside a therapist.

Respite Care Provider

Short term cover so a family carer gets a break.

Roles where these skills are useful, not promised outcomes. Every role is different, and some need more study, a police check or sector registration.

Why This One

What Makes It Different

Three things carry this one: the person at the centre, the whole picture, and an open door.

01
Independence Is the Point

Empowering independence has a topic of its own, and it shapes the rest. Support work done well leaves someone with more control, not less.

02
Beyond the Care Tasks

Recreation, travel, community links, technology and advocacy all get covered. A good life is more than personal care.

03
Come In With Nothing

No disability support experience is needed to start. You do not have to be working in the sector already.

Good to Know

Common Questions

Do I need experience to start?

None. You do not need disability support experience, and you do not have to work in the sector already. The course assumes you are new to it.

How long does it take?

Access runs six months, and the study is about 100 hours. There are no fixed class times and no pressure to rush.

What does it cost?

From $29 a week on a payment plan, with no deposit and no credit check. Weekly, fortnightly and monthly all work, or you can pay upfront.

How is the course assessed?

No exams, ever. You move through the topics and the tasks that go with them.

Can I work as a support worker after this?

It gives you the understanding the work runs on: rights, independence, health and communication. Many employers also ask for a nationally recognised certificate, a police check and a first aid ticket. What this does is get you there knowing the job, and show an employer you are serious about it.

Does it cover the NDIS?

The course teaches the practice rather than one scheme's paperwork. Advocacy, rights and ethical practice sit at the centre, and those carry across any funding system. Employers train their own scheme processes on the job.

What kind of recognition does it carry?

ICOES and the CPD Standards Office back this course, which is recognition for professional development. It is not a nationally recognised credential under the Australian Qualifications Framework, and the college is not an RTO. As a way into the sector, or as backing for care you already give, that is the job it does.

What if I change my mind?

A 10-day money back guarantee applies. Speak up inside that window and you are covered.
