SFI50119 is the nationally recognised Diploma of Aquaculture. It prepares you for work as an aquaculture farmer. It has been the current version on the national register since 2019, when it replaced SFI50111. Employers posted about 3 aquaculture farmer jobs in June 2026, up 200% on a year earlier.
The signals behind this qualification are mixed, and both sides are worth weighing. Specifically: employment in its occupations is projected to grow through 2035, national enrolments are rising and the official shortage list does not rate its occupations in shortage. Employers are advertising more of these roles than a year ago. Across Aquaculture Farmer, about 3 jobs were advertised online in June 2026 (up 200% on a year earlier). Enrolment counts people in training, not completions, so the two figures describe the pipeline and the market, not a job guarantee.
