Entry Requirements

What you’ll typically need to get started in this nationally recognised qualification.

Minimum age 18

Overseas students only. Students must hold a valid student visa. MCIE only accepts overseas students who will be 18 years of age by the time of course commencement.

No formal academic prerequisites

Language, literacy & numeracy (LLN) assessment may apply

English Language proficiency: IELTS 6.0 or equivalent internationally recognised exam result in line with DHA regulations, OR satisfactory completion of an ELICOS program at advanced level from an English Australia member centre, OR certificate of completion equivalent to or higher than Australian Year 11 from an English-speaking country, OR MCIE English Placement Test with overall score equivalent to IELTS 6.0 or above. TOEFL and OET also considered.

Candidates who have completed 1 year of study in Australia in English within the past 2 years at Certificate IV or AQF level 4 and above are exempt from submitting English proficiency evidence.

Work Placement Organised by MCIE

The MCIE Work Placement Coordinator/Skiltrak will organise your 160-hour mandatory work placement with one of their host employers.

Blended Delivery

The program is delivered through a blend of face-to-face classes on MCIE's Melbourne CBD campus and online learning, totalling 20 hours per week.

Online Learning Management System

Most assessments are delivered online via the aXcelerate LMS. Students communicate with trainers via email and the student portal.
