CUA20120 is the nationally recognised Certificate II in Dance. It prepares you for work as a dancer or choreographer. Dancer or choreographer jobs are projected to grow. Jobs and Skills Australia projections put these occupations at 7,887 workers in May 2025, 8,299 by May 2030 (up 5.2%) and 8,806 by May 2035 (up 11.7%).
Certificate II in Dance graduates do worse than is typical at Certificate II level. In the 2025 NCVER Student Outcomes survey, 78.2% were employed or in further study after training. The typical Certificate II result is 77.6%, across 63 qualifications. 87.6% were satisfied with the training, against 91.4% typical.
Fewer people are enrolling in the Certificate II in Dance than a year ago. Across Australia, 1,515 people enrolled in 2024. In 2025 it was 1,350, down 10.9% in a year. National data for CUA20120 starts in 2021.
