Good to Know

Common Questions

Do I need experience or a background in this?

None. It was built for people starting with nothing in this area.

How long do I get?

Twenty four months of access, and around five hundred hours of work.

What does it cost?

From $29 a week on a payment plan. Weekly, fortnightly or monthly, or pay upfront. No deposit and no credit check.

Will this make me a counsellor?

It is the cheap, fast way to find out whether years of study are worth it to you. What it will not do is make you a counsellor, or lead to registration as a psychologist or therapist here or overseas. What you get is the theory, the language and the counselling skills, useful in any support role.

Can I use it as credit toward a degree?

Some institutions consider it. Credit and advanced standing are decided by the place you apply to, so ask them directly before you count on it.

What can I do with it now?

Support work, community roles and youth settings all use these skills. The college treats it as a foundation for further study or support based paths.

What recognition does it carry?

You finish with a Certificate of Achievement, and the college is accredited by ICOES and the CPD Standards Office. It is not a registered training organisation, so the training is not nationally recognised and sits outside the Australian Qualifications Framework. As a foundation before a bigger commitment, that is the point of it.

What if I change my mind?

There is a ten day money back guarantee from the college. Ask an advisor how it works first.
