Who It’s For

Why Do This Course

Start In Animal Care Without Experience

No formal requirements. The course is made for people with little or no animal industry experience. It builds the skills a vet assistant uses every day, from basic care to animal health.

Find Out If The Work Is For You

See the job up close before you commit years to it. You cover feeding and monitoring animals, helping with medications, and nursing them after procedures. There is even a day in the life of a vet. If it grabs you, you will know.

Your Pace, With A Mentor Behind You

A one-on-one mentor with industry experience, tutor help by phone and email on weekdays, and live chat 7 days a week. Study on demand, retake assessments when you need to, and keep lifetime access.

Where The Skills Fit

Where These Skills Could Take You

Animal work is everywhere: vet clinics, kennels and catteries, pet shops, refuges and farms. The work is easy to picture: feeding and settling animals, keeping their spaces clean, helping with medications. You become the steady pair of hands a clinic relies on.

Veterinary Assistant

Working alongside the vet: feeding and monitoring animals, cleaning, and helping with medications. You nurse animals after procedures too.

Animal Attendant

Day-to-day care in clinics, boarding and care facilities. Reception for an animal care facility is covered too.

Kennels, Catteries And Pet Shops

From kennel and cattery work to the pet shop counter, or a pet business of your own one day.

Animal Refuges And Welfare Organisations

Care and welfare work with the animals that need it most, from welfare checks to daily care.

Farm Hand

The same care skills carry onto farms, from routine health to common problems in farm animals.

Roles where these skills are useful, not promised outcomes. Every role is different, and some need more study or experience. Veterinary nursing has its own accredited qualification on top of this course.

Good to Know

Common Questions

Will this make me a vet nurse?

You can find out if it should, before paying for accredited study. This course builds the day-to-day skills of a vet assistant. You see the work up close, right down to a day in the life of a vet. Vet nursing needs its own accredited study on top. If you go that way later, you will already know the work suits you.

Do I need any experience?

None needed. There are no formal requirements, and the course is designed for people with little or no experience in the animal industry.

How long does the course take?

Around 290 study hours, at your own pace. Access is lifetime, so there is no deadline. You can come back to the material after you finish.

What does it cost each week?

The payment plan is from $15 a week. Enquire for the full payment options, including pay-in-four and upfront.

How are assessments done?

Short-answer and multiple-choice, built to help you understand rather than test you against the clock. You can retake them as many times as you need, and marking comes back within one business day.

Is this course accredited?

It is CPD endorsed, which is accreditation for professional development: you finish with CPD points employers recognise, plus a Credly digital badge. It is not a nationally recognised qualification. That is a different thing, and you do not need one to start as a vet assistant.

Can I get my money back if it is not for me?

Yes. There is a 7-day cooling-off period. You can switch to another course or get your money back.
