How It Works
Check You Qualify
You need a CHC33021 Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability), or one the college accepts in its place. You must also be an Australian citizen or permanent resident, aged at least 18.
Ask About Funding
The program runs with Victorian and Commonwealth government funding for people who qualify. A course advisor can tell you where you sit.
Study And Do Your Placement
36 weeks of blended study with live classes and weekly tutorials. Your 90 placement hours are arranged for you.
Finish Qualified
Complete your units and your placement, and finish with a nationally recognised Certificate IV.
How to Get Started
Common Questions
Can I start this without a Certificate III?
You cannot. Entry needs CHC33021 or CHC33015 Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability). CHC30408 Certificate III in Disability with the CHCSS00125 skill set also works. This is not an open-entry course.
Is there a residency requirement?
Yes. You must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident and at least 18 years old.
What will it cost me?
The published full fee is $5,000 for domestic students. Textbooks cost $100 on top. The program runs with Victorian and Commonwealth government funding for people who qualify. A lower concession rate is published. Ask an advisor where you sit.
Do I have to find my own placement?
You do not. A placement coordinator arranges your 90 hours with one of the college's host employers.
Can I do this online?
Partly. Teaching happens live both on campus and remotely, so you can join from home. Placement is done in person.
How much class time is there each week?
5 hours of classes and 2.5 hours of tutorials. Resources and assessments sit online through the learning system.
Is this a real qualification?
Yes. CHC43121 is Nationally Recognised Training under the Australian Qualifications Framework. The college is registered to deliver and assess it. We check both on the national training register.
What checks will I need?
You may be asked for a National Police Check, NDIS Worker Screening, a First Aid Certificate, and flu and COVID-19 vaccinations for placement. What is asked for changes by site. Start early.
