Entry Requirements

What you’ll typically need to get started in this nationally recognised qualification.

Minimum age 18

Overseas students only (CRICOS Code 102279J); must hold a valid Australian student visa.

No formal training package pre-requisites; however, MCIE requires students to enter via a relevant Certificate III in Individual Support pathway or equivalent.

Language, literacy & numeracy (LLN) assessment may apply

Must meet one of the following English Language proficiency requirements: completed a relevant Certificate III qualification in Individual Support or equivalent; IELTS 6.0 or equivalent; ELICOS Advanced level; completion of study in an English-speaking country; MCIE English Placement Test; other recognised tests (PTE, TOEFL, OET).

Must complete a Pre-Training Review and meet Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) skill standards.

Nationally Recognised Training

This is Nationally Recognised Training that leads to an Australian Qualification complying with the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF), or a Statement of Attainment.

Work Placement Included

Minimum 120 hours of work placement included as a qualification requirement, linked to CHCCCS023 Support independence and wellbeing.

Blended Training Delivery

Two days per week of trainer-led face-to-face delivery (7.5 hours each) plus 5 hours per week of structured online learning activities via the LMS.

Online Learning Management System

Online resources and assessments are completed via the LMS; students communicate with trainers via email, student portal and learning management system.

Credit Transfer and RPL Available

Credit Transfer is available free of charge. Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is available at per hour application fee.
