Entry Requirements

What you’ll typically need to get started in this nationally recognised qualification.

Minimum age 18

No formal academic prerequisites

Language, literacy & numeracy (LLN) assessment may apply

Must complete a Pre-Training Review (PTR) and an LLN assessment aligned to the ACSF to confirm entry levels and identify support needs.

Completion of Year 11 (or equivalent) is recommended.

Students must be able to meet inherent physical, emotional and cognitive requirements suitable for direct care work (manual handling, PPE, communication, resilience, responding to challenging situations/behaviours, etc.).

Self-Paced Online Study

Course is delivered online via a user-friendly learning management system (aXcellerate LMS), allowing students to study at their own pace with a minimum of 15 hours of self-directed study per week.

Weekly Live Training Sessions

Students participate in 3 hours of mandatory weekly training sessions via Microsoft Teams.

Weekly Tutorial Support

1 hour per week of tutorial and supported learning provided to all students.
