Apply trauma-informed and culturally responsive practice: use evidence-informed, trauma-informed responses to reduce harm, build safety and trust, and provide culturally safe support for diverse young people and communities

Work legally, ethically, and with accurate records: apply legislation, privacy, consent, and duty of care; maintain clear case notes and uphold professional boundaries

Communicate and collaborate across services: communicate clearly, coordinate referrals, and work with multidisciplinary services to strengthen continuity of care and integrated support

Lead youth engagement and community group programs: plan, facilitate, and evaluate youth and community group programs that build participation, connection, resilience, and positive behaviour change

Entry Requirements

What you’ll typically need to get started in this nationally recognised qualification.

Minimum age 18

Australian citizen, permanent resident, or hold a visa with full work and study rights

Completed education equivalent to Australian Senior High School Year 12, OR successful completion of a Level 4 literacy & numeracy assessment, OR completed an AQF Certificate IV level qualification or higher

Successfully complete an ACSF LLN test at the required level (reading, writing, and numeracy)

Language, literacy & numeracy (LLN) assessment may apply

Capable of completing 80 hours of work placement in a suitable facility
