Who It’s For

Why Do This Course

Be Useful From Day One

Clinics need people who can handle a scared dog safely. Handling, safety and first aid are all covered.

Understand What You See

Anatomy, disease and vaccination knowledge changes how you read an animal. You stop guessing and start noticing.

Speak Up For Animals

A whole certificate covers welfare, protection and rescue services. Care work and advocacy sit together here.

Where The Skills Fit

Where These Skills Could Take You

Clinics, kennels, shelters and wildlife groups all need steady hands. The day means handling animals, cleaning up, watching for changes and keeping owners calm.

Veterinary Assistant

Support the clinic team with handling, prep and care. Safe handling is the daily skill.

Veterinary Receptionist

Run the front desk of a clinic. Knowing the language keeps bookings accurate.

Kennel Technician

Care for boarded animals day to day. Husbandry and hygiene knowledge carry it.

Animal Health Aide

Watch for illness and support treatment plans. Disease knowledge helps you notice early.

Wildlife Care Assistant

Help care for injured or orphaned wildlife. Species knowledge and calm handling matter.

Vet Clinic Coordinator

Keep a clinic running around the vets. Organisation and animal knowledge combine.

Roles where these skills are useful, not promised outcomes. Every role is different, and some need more study or experience. Veterinary nursing and veterinary practice are regulated roles with their own study requirements, which this course does not provide.

Good to Know

Common Questions

Do I need experience with animals?

None is needed. No previous animal care study or clinic work is required. The course starts with the basics of handling and care.

How long does it take?

You get 12 months of access, around 360 hours of work. Most people study a few hours a week.

Will this make me a vet nurse?

You finish knowing animal handling, health and welfare, which is what assistant and support roles run on. Veterinary nursing is a regulated role with its own accredited study. This course does not provide that, though it is a sound way to test the field before committing.

Is there clinic placement?

There is no placement included. Many people volunteer at a shelter or rescue while they study, which builds hands-on hours alongside the theory.

Does it cover animals other than dogs?

Yes. Husbandry and common diseases of other species are both covered, along with a wildlife friendly welfare certificate.

Is this course accredited?

It carries industry accreditation with ICOES and the CPD Standards Office, and the college is a member of the International Approval and Recognition Council. It is not a nationally recognised qualification, and the college is not an RTO. For assistant and support work, clinics hire on handling ability and animal knowledge.

Can I get a refund?

Yes. A 10 day money back guarantee applies from enrolment.
