Vet Student Loans (VSL)
This course is eligible for the Commonwealth Supported VET Student Loans [VSL]. This means the course is study now, pay later and you can study the course now with $0 course fees (excluding the $100 course deposit) and pay later once you are earning above a certain threshold if you meet the requirements (see below).
Vet Student Loan (VSL) Requirements
Students are required to purchase a personal beauty kit, which they can retain and use offsite and on-campus during the course and after graduation. An extensive makeup, waxing, lash tinting and lash extension kits are available to purchase from Kryolan Professional Make-Up for between $1,500-$2,000.
Work experience is mandatory for this qualification. Students are required to participate in student salon training days and work on real fee paying clients.
TMT accepts students who are 16 and have completed year 10 or equivalent, there is no maximum age limit. If you are an international student, you must have a minimum English language level of IELTS 5 or equivalent. International Students must be at least 18 years of age.
Applicants without completing year 12 are required to do the LLN Test [Language, Literacy and Numeracy Test], this test is used to identify any supports a student might require.
For full time study, this course requires 30 - 35 hours nominal hours of study per week. This consists of attending 2 Days a week in class training, structured learning activities, including homework, assignments, assessment preparation, student salon participation and online study. Beauty Therapy is a practical hands-on discipline, you are required to do practical exercise and participate in additional student training salon days and other work experience at home or at commercial settings.
