Module 1: Wildlife Conservation
In this module, you will learn how to conduct flora and fauna surveys, learn about wildlife conservation theory, habitat rehabilitation and threatened species recovery. You will gain knowledge about the different ways you can conserve wildlife, including the impact habitat use and fragmentation can have. You will learn a variety of survey techniques to be used for better understanding of wildlife, flora, vegetation and marine life.
Module 2: Wildlife Management
Wildlife management is the manipulation of wild animal populations and their habitats for the benefit of both humans and wildlife. In this module, you will learn to manage wildlife populations in the wild through conservation, habitat management, captive breeding and more. You will discover and learn about the various methods of wildlife management, from running wildlife parks and reserves, altering and rehabilitating wildlife habitats, pest control, protecting human life and property and managing harvests of wildlife.
Module 3: Introduction To Ecology
Explore the essentials of ecology in this module, delving into ecosystems and populations and the development of life across diverse habitats. Learn about the roles and challenges of animals, parasites, and endangered species in environments like tundra, rainforests, marshlands, and shallow waters. This module also highlights key ecological problems, providing a foundational understanding of ecological balance and conservation.
Module 4: Vertebrate Zoology
This module offers an extensive overview of vertebrate zoology, beginning with the taxonomy and diversity of vertebrates. Explore the fascinating world of fishes, understanding their diversity and ecological significance. You'll also delve into studying birds and mammals, including specific groups like marsupials, carnivores and hoofed mammals (Ungulata). This module is designed to thoroughly understand the various vertebrate classes, their ecological roles, and conservation importance.
Module 5: Environmental Assessment
In this module, delve into the realm of environmental assessment, gaining a comprehensive introduction and overview of its vital role in wildlife management. Explore the complexities of international and domestic environmental law, understanding how they shape practices in conservation and wildlife management. Learn about the different types of environmental assessments and their significance in evaluating and mitigating ecological impact. This module also guides you through the design and process of conducting environmental assessments, culminating in the essential skills of writing detailed environmental reports. Engage in a practical research project to apply your learning, enhancing your ability to contribute effectively to environmental conservation efforts.

Assessments are an important part of your study journey as they help ensure you stay on track and meet the learning objectives of each lesson before moving on to the next. They also help your student support advisor and mentors identify where any further support may be required so that you get the most out of your course. You will learn via various methods; a combination of reading, undertaking research and watching videos. Assessments might include case studies, quizzes, and written assessments.
Upon completing the course, you will receive a Statement of Attainment for each certificate completed and a Certificate of Completion.
