This module is designed to give you an introduction into the role of a counsellor and how a counsellor facilitates a person’s resolution of issues, whilst respecting their values, personal resources, culture and capacity for choice.

You will learn techniques to provide insight into a client’s feelings and behaviour to help the client adjust and change their behaviour if necessary. From the basic foundations, such as improving your listening and communications skills, to discovering ways to articulate and comment on a client’s issue from a professional perspective, this course covers a wide spectrum of counselling, which can be beneficial for many careers, for example, a nurse, youth leader, personal trainer or teacher.
