This module is designed to give you an introduction to the wedding planning industry and what is involved in successfully planning and managing a wedding, from hiring the band, liaising with the photographer, organising catering, negotiating rates for venues and equipment and much more.
You will also learn about people management and how important your relationships are with your client and your contractors. You will develop skills in how best to work with your clients, to ensure you understand what they want to achieve, manage their expectations and meet their desired outcome.
Module 2: Event Management
Designed to provide you with a comprehensive introduction to the event planning industry, this module will teach you how to organise and manage events, parties, concerts, exhibitions, weddings, celebrations and more. This is a module designed to develop knowledge and skills in the planning and management of events, everything from event ideation, to marketing the event, understanding and managing potential risks, managing event budgets, execution and then what happens after the event.
Module 3: Food and Beverage Management
This module covers a broad spectrum of topics, from human food and nutrition to the intricacies of cooking and kitchen management. You'll learn the art of menu planning, gain knowledge about alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, and understand the scope and nature of various catering services. You'll develop skills in managing teams and learn how to effectively oversee catering operations, ensuring high-quality service delivery. Module 6: Wedding Photography

It begins with an introduction to the unique aspects of wedding photography, including logistical planning and the selection of appropriate equipment. It also covers different style options, teaching you how to compose and pose shots effectively, ensuring memorable images of both the wedding ceremony and reception.
Additionally, this module delves into the post-production process, an essential aspect of wedding photography, where you'll learn techniques to refine and enhance your photographs. Module 7: Business Planning
This module offers a comprehensive introduction to business planning, essential for anyone looking to establish or grow a small business. You'll gain insights into setting focus and direction and understanding the legal and administrative requirements necessary for operating a business. It guides you through developing clear objectives and strategies, planning for growth, and the importance of risk management and contingencies. You'll also delve into the creation of effective systems, marketing, operation and human resource plans. Additionally, the module covers the fundamentals of financial planning, ensuring you know how to build a robust business plan, review your business's progress and implement strategies for increased profitability in the dynamic business landscape.
You’ll be fully supported with access to an allocated student support advisor, mentor and course consultants, who are available 5 days per week.
Assessments are an important part of your study journey as they help ensure you stay on track and meet the learning objectives of each lesson before moving on to the next. They also help your student support advisor and mentors identify where any further support may be required so that you get the most out of your course. You will learn via various methods; a combination of reading, undertaking research and watching videos. Assessments might include case studies, quizzes, and written assessments.
Upon completing the course, you will receive a Statement of Attainment for each certificate completed and a Certificate of Completion.
There are no prerequisites to complete this course. However, you must be able to read, analyse and comprehend, printed information in English, and to write statements and solve problems to complete the course. You must also have reliable access to a computer and a reliable internet connection and have basic computer skills.
