Gain skills to create environments that are culturally safe for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, promoting understanding and respect.

  1. CHCCOM002 Use Communication to Build Relationships

Enhance your communication skills to build trust and rapport with young people, their families, and other community stakeholders.

  1. CHCDFV001 Recognise and Respond Appropriately to Domestic and Family Violence

Develop the skills to identify and respond to signs of domestic and family violence with sensitivity and care. Learn to provide appropriate support while ensuring the safety and well-being of those affected.

  1. CHCLEG001 Work Legally and Ethically

Learn the legal and ethical frameworks governing alcohol & other drugs, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and maintaining professional integrity.

  1. CHCMHS001 Work with People with Mental Health Issues

Develop strategies to support individuals experiencing mental health challenges, with a focus on promoting well-being and recovery.

  1. CHCMHS007 Work Effectively in Trauma Informed Care

Develop the skills to provide trauma-informed care by understanding the impact of trauma and creating safe, supportive environments. Learn to manage trauma-related behaviours, respond ethically to disclosures, and incorporate self-care strategies to sustain professional well-being.

  1. CHCPRP003: Reflect on and Improve Own Professional Practice

Develop skills in self-reflection and continuous improvement to enhance your professional practice. Learn to incorporate feedback, manage work-life balance, and set actionable goals for ongoing growth and ethical decision-making.

Upon successful completion, participants will receive a Statement of Attainment for the 8 units of competency. These units can be credited towards advanced qualifications, such as a (CHC43315) Certificate IV in Mental Health or (CHC53315) Diploma in Mental Health or related fields.

Course Entry Requirements
  • Be an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident. This course does not accept International Students.
  • Be at least 18 years of age.
  • Have completed their education to a level which is equivalent to an Australian Senior High School Year 12 or must successfully complete a literacy and numeracy quiz.
  • Have sound computer skills to navigate simple software to complete the online component of this course and must be able to use intermediate-level Word features in order to produce and present word-processed documents/ reports.
  • Have access to a computer and internet to complete this online course.
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)

This course is eligible for Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL). RPL considers the knowledge and skills you have gained through your previous education and work history, attributing this to your enrolled qualification course. This may be through formal or informal training and can result in credits towards your qualification. For more information submit an enquiry to speak with a course advisor.
