Module 1: Landscaping I (100 hours)

The ultimate introduction to landscaping, this module delivers the essential know-all for budding garden designers and landscape gardeners alike. Explore the fundamentals, from the history of garden design, principles of design, landscape detailing, and construction. Gain a better understanding of drawing techniques and plans and learn how to create your own detailed landscape design.

The module will take you step-by-step through the design process, from pre-planning and how to prepare for landscape design, to appropriate garden and plan selection, landscape features and how to use visual effects and graphic skills to bring your ideas to life for both domestic gardens and public parks.

Module 2: Landscaping II (100 hours)

Following on from the completion of Landscaping I, this module is more heavily weighted towards individual landscape components such as specific types of plants, paths, paving, walls, and garden features. Learn about landscape elements in greater detail and build your confidence to select where and how to use different types of plants.

This module will help you to determine the resources required for a landscape development, including materials and equipment and identify problem areas in a landscape, including slopes and hostile environments. You will also learn how create a landscape development plan in accordance with a client brief and in liaison with the client, an invaluable and vital skill required to be a successful landscape gardener.
