This course is broken down into two parts: Practical (46 hours of face-to-face practical learning) * Campus Club – Learn in a small group in one of Australia’s leading gyms. * 1-to-1 Flexible Mentor – You’ll be matched with one of the provider’s qualified Personal Trainers to mentor you inside a real club. * Mentor of Your Choice – If you already know a Personal Trainer, the provider can approve them to be your mentor. Theoretical (To be completed online) * Complete 3 course units every month to graduate in 12 months.

* This course contains the unit HLTAID011 Provide First Aid which must be completed through an external RTO. AIPT has an agreement in place with Red Cross Australia (RTOID 3605) which allows students to receive training for this unit at a reduced price or you may source your own training provider. Please note that the cost of this external training is not included in your course fee. Upon completion, you will need to submit a copy of your First Aid certificate for us to process a Credit Transfer against this unit on your student record.

∞ This course offer includes the units BSBOPS304, HLTWHS001 and SISFFIT036 as part of the cluster GE01 Group Exercise. Students who complete this cluster and submit a copy of their statement of attainment forHLTAID011 Provide First Aid are eligible to receive the skill set SISSS00128 Group Exercise Leader. This skill set is targeted toward group exercise leaders who lead predesigned group exercise sessions in settings such as fitness facilities, gyms, and leisure and community centres.

~ These units of competency will be granted as credit transfers as they will be completed in SIS30321 Certificate III in Fitness.

  • Internet: High-speed internet such as Broadband or ADSL, T1/T2, fibre optic (Dial-up access is not recommended).
  • Office Equipment: Printer and scanner to print and upload some of your assessments.
  • Windows: Operating system – Windows 8 or above.
  • Mobile Phone with video capability or Video Camera: Some assessments in your course will require you to take and submit videos of you undertaking tasks for assessment.
  • Internet Browser: Google Chrome, Firefox or Microsoft Internet Explorer 11.
  • MAC: Operating system – OS X 10.14 Mojave or later.
  • Software: Flash, Adobe Reader, Microsoft Word (or Open Office which is free to download).
Work Placement

You may need a current "Working with Children Check Clearance" issued by the relevant authority in your state/territory.

Before Commencing SIS40221 Certificate IV in Fitness, students are required to complete and be deemed competent in the below units of competency (or superseded units), which are available as part of the SIS30321 Certificate III in Fitness.

Education:

You'll need to have completed year 12 or equivalent (i.e., a qualification at Certificate IV level or higher) or 2 years of industry experience in a role that requires the use of written documentation and communication.

Literacy and Numeracy:

You will need to possess a high level of language, literacy and numeracy skills – sufficient to interpret complex documents and communicate with clients and others from a range of backgrounds and a variety of ages (including children).

Minimum Age: 

To commence the Complete Personal Training Course, you need to be aged 17 years or older. Entry to the 10967NAT Diploma of Nutrition is limited to people aged 18 years or older. This is because the Diploma of Nutrition requires you to handle confidential client health information and may expose you to challenging and emotionally confronting situations

Residency Status: 

You need to be a permanent Australian resident or equivalent.

Practical Assessment

Please be aware some of your assessments require you to source participants to role-play clients, please work with your mentor to secure the required number.

Payment Options

Upfront payment or flexible weekly payment* options that suit your budget and lifestyle. 

*Payment plan total is $100 deposit + 78 weekly payments. The Australian Institute of Personal Trainers uses the direct debiting services of Debitsuccess on payment plans. Payment plans will incur a $12 establishment fee, charged with the first instalment, plus a 3.63% transaction fee on each transaction.
